Oh poor Ryland! He is such a tortured soul. He sure deserves a break, so I was glad to see the dire.. 3. 0. As much as I hate to say it, this one was my least favorite of the series. It seemed to take me forever to finish. Burnt Devotion basically reiterates the events in the Rioseco abbey, the tunnels, and Prague but in Wyn's, Ryland's and Ovalia's viewpoints. Here are my thoughts: • I was thinking we would learn a lot more about the relationship between Wyn and Thom; Burnt Devotion didn't go into as much detail as I had hoped. • Nowhere near enough Ilyan. • Sain … such a disappointment. • Knowing.. Very good. I loved all the different points of view in this book. I made me loathe a couple characters more, and fall more in love with others. I liked Ryland more by the end and have hope for his future. Sain and Ovalia can both drown in a sea of lava. The end gave me hope for the ending of the next and last book, and also fear of what a certain man has up his sleeve. It's going to be an exciting conclusion...
