Como hemos dicho anteriormente, existen muchos tipos de adjetivos. En esta lección vamos a ver los adjetivos positivos, que son aquellos que destacan o resaltan una cualidad del sustantivo al que acompañan. El grado positivo de un adjetivo señala dicha cualidad del nombre sin recurrir a ninguna comparación con otro. Los adjetivos que se pueden graduar reciben el nombre de adjetivos calificativos y son aquellos que describen las cualidades que definen al sustantivo al que acompañan. Un ejemplo de un adjetivo en grado positivo es el siguiente: "Este coche es nuevo". Para entender mejor qué es un adjetivo positivo podemos compararlo con los otros dos grados que puede tener un adjetivo. Así, hablamos de adjetivos comparativos en oraciones como "Este coche es más nuevo que el otro", si seguimos utilizando el ejemplo anterior; y nos referimos a adjetivos en grado superlativo cuando enunciamos "Este coche es nuevísimo". Por otra parte, podemos entender como "adjetivos positivos" a todos aquellos adjetivos que indique una buena cualidad o una cualidad positiva del sustantivo, teniendo en cuenta los parámetros semánticos asociados al significado propio de cada adjetivo.
